Description
Elephant ears are an anatomical name given to a type of plant known as colocasias. It is also known as "taro" and "kalo". You will find them in tropical and sub-tropical countries where they are used as food. In fact, Colocasia esculenta ranks 14th among the most widely consumed vegetables on earth. As a food source, they can be eaten if they are steamed and boiled thoroughly to remove calcium oxalate crystals. I added a paint effect to this image which was back lighted by the morning sun.
